Dear Safe Schools Coalition Members and Friends:

Today is THE DAY to do the GiveBIG Challenge to support Safe Schools Coalition!
           Go to: http://www.seattlefoundation.org/npos/Pages/SafeSchoolsCoalition.aspx

Gifts made between now and midnight to the Coalition of any size will be partially matched by the Seattle Foundation and GiveBIG sponsors as part of this GiveBIG day, a charitable-giving extravaganza inspiring people to donate generously to their favorite nonprofits (like the Safe Schools Coalition) through The Seattle Foundation.

Safe Schools Coalition can't serve a world-wide constituency without you!
If you are thinking about donating to help us, this is the time to do it!

We need funding currently for two things.

Our speakers’ bureau could reach many more students and educators if we had the resources. It costs us about $200 per hour of training professionals (including management, travel and an honorarium for the trainer) and about $125 per hour of educating students. Training and education change hearts in a way that policy never can.

Our website is one of the most useful in the world for professionals, students and families trying to make their schools safe from bias-based harassment. We had to cut our Webspinner’s hours this year. It would cost $18,000 to bring her back to half time for one year. Keeping the website current and dynamic is among our highest priorities.

When you make a donation that day through the The Seattle Foundation online giving page from 7am to midnight today you will be eligible for a match by the Seattle Foundation and local businesses. In addition, every hour one donor will be chosen at random to have an additional $1,000 given to the charity that received their donation. One lucky donor will receive an extra $5,000 for their charity!

Your donation will support us as we work to reduce bias-based bullying and violence in schools and to help schools better meet the needs of sexual minority youth and children with sexual minority parents/guardians locally, nationally and internationally.

Please be a part of the GiveBIG Challenge -- today only!
