(1) Pride Foundation Looking for Volunteers to Help Create Open Dialogue Around Marriage Equality  -- training July 11 & 25 in Seattle and July 23 in Bellingham

Pride Foundation is heading up the “hearts and minds," campaign - an education and outreach effort surrounding the issue of marriage equality in Washington State.  A significant portion of this outreach will involve conversation “ listening and sharing“ with families.

In an effort to reach parents and families Pride Foundation is looking for Parent Ambassadors to facilitate conversations with members of their communities:  fellow parents in their kids’ schools and sports teams, neighbors, family members, and friends.  This is a chance for people who are looking to make a positive difference in the future of marriage equality to learn about how they can have a meaningful impact on changing hearts and minds around this issue.  A toolkit has been created that will help Ambassadors reach their community in a way that respects the needs of their community and reflects their own capacity for time-commitment.

Trainings have been scheduled for the following times and locations:

Wednesday, July 11th

5:30-7:00

Pride Foundation Office

2014 E Madison St #300

Seattle, WA

Monday, July 23rd

5:30-7:00

Canterbury Court Community Building

3790 Canterbury Ln

Bellingham, WA

Wednesday, July 25th

6:00-7:30pm

Douglass Truth branch of the Seattle Public Library

2300 East Yesler Way

Seattle, WA

More trainings will be added through August.  Everyone is welcome to attend. Free childcare will be provided at all trainings.  For more information, please contact Laurie Carlsson at laurie@pridefoundation.org or 206-323-3318.
