(1) LGBTQ Families are Featured in 2012 Calendar “Our Families, Our Children”
The Lesbian and Gay Child Care Task Force is excited to offer once again its beautiful calendar of LGBTQ parented families from the Seattle area. The task force has been producing the calendar for ten years with the mission of providing the visual reminder
to children, teachers and families that families look different and that all families are welcomed. Additionally the calendar has been displayed in diverse work places and in college and universities with teacher preparation programs.
The upcoming year is the tenth anniversary of the calendar. The task force revisited families from the “early years” and invited twelve (plus two more!) families to come back for another picture shoot. Each family picture has a small inset picture from
the first time the family was in the calendar. Many families have grown; others have changed their make-up; and the tragic loss of one dad illustrate that our families and our children experience life, death and change just like other families.
Proceeds from the calendar help the task force to produce the calendar for another year, onward to the twentieth year and beyond.

(2) posters with images of LGBTQ people and their families
Your classroom or office environment gives students cues about how welcoming you are of their presence, how much you value diversity of all stripes, and what kinds of respectful behavior you expect from them and their peers. Does your space reflect the
racial, gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, family, ethnic, religious, and ability diversity among the students and families you serve? Some of those, but not all?
