Hello--

Please forward this information to your staff, volunteers, and friends who might be interested.

As you know, the 2007 One Night Count of unsheltered homeless people is happening 2-5am on Friday, January 26th.  We hope you will be joining us.

Those who have participated in “the Count” before can promise you that it will be an amazing experience.

There are many ways to be involved with this important event:
PRIOR TO THE 26TH
I understand that the time frame is a difficult one for some due to work schedules and personal responsibilities.  There are a couple opportunities to help out prior to the Count:

1.  Coordinate the food and supplies for a simple breakfast!  We will serve breakfast to the counters when they return to our base at 5am.  This job includes soliciting donations, as well as picking up items and dropping them off on the 25th.

2.  Collate Team packets!  Each Team will receive a packet containing its area map, instructions, and tally sheets.

DURING THE COUNT
1.  Be a Team Lead!  Recruit 3-5 friends or colleagues to be counters with you.  Leads must also attend training on Tuesday, 16 January, 5-6pm.

Volunteers must be 18 years or older.

2.  Be a counter!  You will be assigned to an existing Team.  Volunteers must be 18 years or older.

Do let me know ASAP if you're available to participate.  Please DO NOT just show up the night of the Count--things will go much more smoothly if we know to expect you!

Thanks very much,
Laura
