[:ssc338:] WELCOME new faces at the Safe Schools Coalition & back-to-school resources
Dear Safe Schools Coalition members and friends:

NOTE: My email is "down" in the sense that I can't receive messages. I will let you all know as soon as it is back up. In the meantime, apologies for any inconvenience. -- Beth (Reis)

(1) Welcome the Safe Schools Coalition's new Speakers' Bureau & Training Team Manager (who will also be managing the AFSC youth panels)), Helen

Helen Stillman comes to the Coalition from Lambert House, where she's served as a JustServe Americorps member this past year. Some of you know her from a variety of other roles. She volunteered with the Asian & Pacific Islander Women & Family Safety Center, mentored with Youth In Focus and at Richard Hugo House, and served in 2001 as a Queer Youth Rights Intern at Seattle Youth People’s Project. We're very excited to have her aboard, starting September 3rd.

Contact Helen to:

She can be reached @ http://www.safeschoolscoalition.org/contact/?id=3  or leave a message at 206-451-SAFE (7233) (it will be returned within a week).

(2) Welcome the Safe Schools Coalition's TWO new Americorps members, Ethan and Adrienne!

Ethan Blustein has recently done consulting with the Q Center at University of Washington and volunteered with the Gender Odyssey conference happening this weekend in Seattle. He believes that that this an amazing opportunity to get directly involved in the kind of change I want to see in the world.

Adrienne "Dreen" Woody taught at the African American Academy in Kent. She volunteered at the Kent Common Food Bank. She has also been a full-time mother. Now she wants to give back to the community.

We are very excited that they will be on board staring next week. We'll announce their work plans to you all within the next couple of weeks, as well as how to reach them!
